Logging in as the Business Manager
The Business Central icon lives within the Office 365 apps. Once you log in, you are in your Role Center. The drop downs at the top of the page will take you to the different areas of the system. Bookmarks can also be created and will be added beneath those drop downs, to access frequently used options with just one click. Note that each green highlighted subject in your Role Center is clickable and will take you to another page so you can really drill into your data.
Do you want to know the important “Insights” of your company? Continue down the page to see stand-out information, that Business Central knows will be important to you. Click into those insights to see specific details.
To the right of your “Insights” you will notice a list of “Actions.” From creating sales quotes to forming invoices, this is your spot. By clicking on these options, you can complete your tasks with ease. Each option is filled with every tool you need to get the job done. Contact cards, making calls through teams, entering interactions. You can even access your email and see specific customer information like YTD sales and invoice status.
Further down on the page, you will see the “Activities” section. This shows your important business numbers that update throughout the day, as people make changes to the system. Live numbers for purchase invoices, payments, sales, approvals, etc. – with red and green color-coding so you can recognize up-to-date accounts and flagged issues like overdue accounts. This is also the home for your email status. If customer invoices have been sent through email within Business Central, it tracks the status of those emails and alerts you to failed attempts or drafts that have not been successfully sent.

Below “Activities” are “Insights.” Here you can find important reports for your cash flow, accounts, trial balance and Power BI, all pulled by the data that was entered throughout the day, week, month, or your preferred time frame.

Next, is the “Report Inbox.” If you have a report that you enter consistently, pre-plan your reports by entering your dates and the information you need. That way it will run automatically. We love a good planning tool!
Reports can be opened, downloaded, or shared in OneDrive. You can send a link without even downloading the file to your local machine.

Your role center is your command center. You can access anything and everything that is important to YOU! Quickly get the information and insights you need to be more effective during your workday.
